Tristan and Isolde

Richard Wagner

The greatest love

This time, we’re heading to Cadaques on the Costa Brava to talk about a great love story, of a love beyond death: what Tristan and Isolde felt for one another. To do so, Ramón Gener will talk with Swedish soprano Irene Theorin aboard a sailboat, chat amongst friends to explain what a leitmotif is, and will show us the castle that Dalí bought for his great love, Gala, in Port Lligat. All this seasoned with the wonderful score that Wagner wrote based on his encounter with Mathilde, the woman who inspired this great opera. But we’ll also talk to anonymous people who have experienced great love stories like the protagonists of this legend, and who will act as a counterpoint to show us that love is more powerful than death.
